Imaginations will soar with inspiration from the beauty of the natural surrounding environment and open-air art studios with scenic mountain views. Afternoons take advantage of the 84 acres of wooded lands and playing fields of the University Settlement Campus. Experience progressive recreational models of healthy competition that place emphasis on accomplishing group goals and give children plenty of wholesome physical activity. All activities and games promote team-work and positive communication skills.

SUMMER THEMES

All camp activities in our program will be centered around themes to deepen the learning experience. We will be tapping into the notion of the four naturalelements —fire, water, earth and air.

Fire (June 30-July 3) Campfires and cook outs, to looking at the sun and stars, an exploration of what sparks our imaginations.

Water (July 7-July 18) Trips on the Hudson on the Clearwater Sloop & studies of the watershed including Mt. Beacon, expressing our feelings and emotions &how we go with the flow.

Earth (July 21-August 1) Trips to Common Ground Farm to getting our hands dirty in our own camp garden, examine geology, to express what makes us feel grounded.

Air (August 4-August 15) Inspired cloud gazing & wind sock making, using intellect to engineer paper airplanes, dragons, kites and other objects of flight & fancy.

Campers are grouped by age, and all participate in a range of age appropriate activities under the guidance of caring and nurturing staff.

Skilled & dynamic professional art educators teach movement, acting, music and visual arts in this colorful summer experience. They are specifically chosen because of their proven abilities to reach young people and commitment to sharing their talents with youth.

In addition to a fantastic program with stellar instructors, the program fee covers cost of materials and healthy snacks. Violin lessons and swim instruction are offered at an additional cost.
